Rhonda Albom writes contemporary women’s fiction about relationships, identity, resilience, and the choices that can change a life.
Originally from the United States, Rhonda has lived in New Zealand for more than twenty years. She and her husband, Jeff, have raised their family there while continuing to travel widely.
Before turning to fiction, Rhonda built a reputation as a writer and international travel photographer. She has visited more than sixty countries across six continents, and her experiences abroad continue to shape the settings, characters, and cultural details in her stories.
Her first novel is set in Palamós, a coastal town in Catalonia, Spain. The setting was inspired by a long-term home exchange she and Jeff completed in Spain, where they lived in a centuries-old house surrounded by stone walls, narrow streets, local traditions, and layers of history.
Although the story and characters are fictional, Rhonda draws on the atmosphere of places she has experienced firsthand. Many of the photographs featured on this website were taken during her time in Palamós.
Rhonda is also the creator of Albom Adventures, a travel website focused on New Zealand and international travel. She is involved with a family food website as well, although fiction is now at the centre of her creative work.
She is a member of the New Zealand Society of Authors, Romance Writers of New Zealand, Hibiscus Coast Writers, and the International Association of Press Photographers.
Rhonda lives in the Auckland region with Jeff, where she writes, photographs, travels, and works toward the publication of her first novel.
