Inspired by Palamós, Spain

The novel takes place in Palamós, a fishing town on Spain’s Costa Brava.

I first experienced the area while living in Spain during a long-term home exchange. The medieval streets, stone houses, Mediterranean light, local traditions, and layers of history offered the perfect setting for a story about appearances, hidden truths, and a woman beginning to question the life she has accepted.

Many of the photographs on this site were taken during my time there.

The characters and story are fictional, but the atmosphere of Palamós is very real.
